[Dr. Susan Linn] But what’s important for us to remember is that just about everything that kids encounter online is designed to sell them something. And given the amount of time that even young children spend with tech, children are immersed in a digitized, commercialized culture. And- and it starts when they’re really young. Researchers have found that 95% of apps for preschoolers contained at least one kind of advertising. And the – even the apps that children encounter at school are collecting information that can be used internally for commercial targeting or sold to other vendors.
